If you’re a fan of using facemasks for moisturizing your skin and sunscreens as your shield from the heat of the sun, then the new trend this year will suit you.
Facemasks and face shields are must-haves this year because of the devious Coronavirus disease or COVID – 19. This COVID – 19 spreads through droplets when we sneeze, cough, or speak and can enter us directly through our eyes, nose, or mouth. The virus can also live on a lot of surfaces for hours, so people can pick it up on their hands and infect themselves if they touch their face. So knowing that the virus can spread through droplets, wearing facemasks and face shields are very important that you shouldn't leave without it.
To help prevent the respiratory droplets from touching others, protective face covers are a basic shield. Studies illustrate that when worn, it minimize the spray of droplets. It is particularly necessary to wear the said protective face covers if you are unable to keep at least 6 feet apart from others because COVID-19 spreads mainly among people who are in close contact with each other (within about 6 feet). Several studies have also shown that individuals with COVID-19 who never experience symptoms (asymptomatic) or who do not display symptoms (pre-symptomatic) can still transmit the virus to other individuals.
Aside from that, the wearing of protective equipment is also highly implemented here in our country, the Philippines. President Rodrigo Duterte supports the wearing of the equipment and even asked the Philippine National Police (PNP) to intensify operations against people who are not observing health and safety protocols. For him, it's either facemasks or face arrest. So, you might want to think again if you will not take the "Facemasks and Face shields" seriously. Also, there are massive productions of facemasks and face shields this year. The demand for disposable face masks is motivated by the unprecedented spread of coronavirus globally, most notably in Europe and North America. The disposable facemask alone has surpassed a market size of USD 74.90 billion in the first quarter of 2020 and is projected to rise from 2020 to 2027 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 53.0 percent. So, let us make use of it and not let it go to waste.
Frankly speaking, the main point here is that people should wear facemasks and face shields to avoid COVID - 19. Let us be cautious and disciplined to help mitigate the number of COVID patients. By doing so, you will not just be the one who can benefit from it, but also the people you love. Take it as if you are saying I love you but just differently. Wearing it is like saying it. So do it!
To end, let me remind you that life is short but it can be shorter if, for you, facemasks and face shields don't matter. If you still want to experience better days then choose to live each day, and you can do that by using facemasks and face shields.
