Movie marathon has been trending these days. Some would watch 3-4 movies for the entire day or even finish the whole series for a week. Well, there is no doubt that watching movies had been our hobby this quarantine. The current situation drives us to binge-watch movies which fills the gap of our boring moments.
Among all the best movies that I've watched, Hacksaw Ridge has been my favorite. It made an impact to me and changed my perspective about faith and religious beliefs. So today, I'll be giving you the reasons why you should watch it again and again.
1. Action Movie
Hacksaw Ridge is an action movie which was released in Nov. 4, 2016. It is a war film directed by Mel Gibson and mainly starred by Andrew Garfield. The movie is action-based especially that the setting is during the Battle of Okinawa, World War II. Expect that it is loaded with guns, soldiers, and war scenes that will surely thrill you to the end.
2. Brave Soldier
The main character that was portrayed by Mr. Andrew is Pfc. Desmond T. Doss, an American pacifist combat medic during the WWII. Mr. Doss is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian and strongly believes the Ten Commandments, especially the 'Thou shall not kill.' Due to this belief, he never brought any weapon to defend himself in the war. He was then called as coward for his action. But, through his bravery, he was able to rescue 75 soldiers from the battlefield. Tell me, is he still coward?
3. True Story
You already know that this had happened in real life. Well, the movie was based on Conscientious Objector by Terry Benedict. After the war, Mr. Doss won the Congressional Medal of Honor which was awarded by President Harry S. Truman. Unfortunately, he died in March 23, 2006 at the age of 87 due to lung complication. Truly, his story became an inspiration to all of the US soldiers and to all the people who is afraid to be judged as coward when they weren't born to fight.
Indeed, movies have something to tell us. It is not just intended to visually pleased the viewers, but also aims to touch the heart of everyone. So, better watch Hacksaw Ridge now and check it out yourself if am I telling truth or just blabbering.
